Application for Caribou Mine Union Certification Received by Blue Note Caribou Mines Inc.

Montreal, Qc. - February 20, 2008 - The United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union has applied for certification to unionize the 85 hourly employees of Blue Note Caribou Mines Inc.'s Caribou Mine in Bathurst, New Brunswick, Blue Note Mining disclosed today.

"We hold our employees in the highest regard, and have always treated them with fairness and generosity, " said Michael Judson, Chief Executive Officer. "Our wages and benefits reflect the economic realities of this project and the reality of commodity prices."

Judson said the Company will respect and follow the legal process through to its conclusion.

Blue Note Caribou Mines Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Blue Note Mining Inc., a Canadian mining company headquartered in Montreal with operations in Bathurst, New Brunswick. The company's shares trade on the TSX under the symbol BN.
